Fantasy Football MADHOUSE A-GO-GO

OutofmyHead Knowledge for Good and Not Evil #5
by Stan Lisowski

TITANS have 8 sacks this year, which is #2 in the league behind GREEN BAY and DETROIT , (huh?!), and are the best team in the NFL at defending the receiver position. The GIANTS are off an embarrassment and still have a couple of OL banged up.
BUFFALO is a torture to watch and not one of the skill people should be of interest to own, not with their terrible O-line and the changes at QB. TOM BRADY for his lifetime has averaged at least 2 TD tosses in each game he has played against the BILLS. In their last 3 home affairs in this series, RANDY MOSS has 22 receptions with WES WELKER having 28.
CLEVELAND scored 3 points in 2 games last season against the RAVENS and has scored 14 points in each of their 2 games so far this year. Suffice to say no BROWNIES should be thought of this week, especially with how BALTIMORE shuts down opposing skill players.
JOSH FREEMAN is right now a top 10 QB. While on the STEELER side of the ball, PITTSBURGH 's signal callers are ranked 31st in the league in fantasy points scored from this position; right ahead of KANSAS CITY .
CHAD 85 has had 2, 6-catch games for his career against CAROLINA . The PANTHERS have given up 5 TD passes so far. Despite the situation at QB, STEVE SMITH still warrants attention as he has 13 catches for 270 yards in 2 lifetime meetings with CINCINNATI .
Be patient TONY GONZALEZ owners, this matchup is what you have been waiting for as the SAINTS come into this encounter giving up the second most points to the TE position and GONZO has not caught less than 5 passes in any of the 4 games he has played against NEW ORLEANS . In 2 games last season, MARQUES COLSTON had 12 receptions and 2 TDs vs. ATLANTA . DREW BREES has 17 touchdown passes and completes over 67% of his throws for his career affairs with the FALCONS.
Looking good on MNF, ALEX SMITH deserves consideration for pickups as he threw for 72% completions and 275 yards in the wind. His scrambling ability is an asset as well and he should put up solid numbers against a CHIEF club that doesn't pressure the QB and don't contain opposing WRs or TEs very well neither.
BRET FAVRE looked about 100 years old vs. MIAMI last week. And now, PERCY HARVIN is banged up again. Still though, based on history, it should be observed that he has 30 TDs vs. DETROIT while on an 8-0 touchdown to interception run against them. ADRIAN PETERSON has 3 straight 110> yard games rushing in this series with 4 scores as well. JAHVID BEST exploded on the scene last week and should be able to post significant numbers again this Sunday, especially with catches out of the backfield, as the VIKINGS are in the bottom half of the league in terms of allowing receptions to running backs.
While it was only preseason, ARIAN FOSTER destroyed the DALLAS defensive front when these 2 played about a month ago. Now for real, HOUSTON 's sensational rusher goes up against the #6 ranked run defense in the league without one of their top offensive linemen. Worth mentioning is the TEXAN stop units, ranked #2 in the NFL allowing just 31 yards per game, further enhancing the concept of not wanting any of the DALLAS running backs this weekend. KEVIN WALTER had 11 targets and 11 catches last Sunday and gives MATT SCHAUB 3 very good WR options between ANDRE JOHNSON and JACOBY JONES.
Last time DONOVAN McNABB faced ST.LOUIS he threw for 361 yards and 3 touchdowns. CHRIS COOLEY has 24 catches in 4 career games against the RAMS. It might be a high scoring affair in the dome as the REDSKINS have given up 51 receptions and 4 TDs to wide receivers so far. MARK CLAYTON of ST.LOO has been resurrected from the dead, leading the team in targets and catches.
Those waiting for MJD to put up his usual points may get what they want when JACKSONVILLE goes up against an EAGLE club allowing 123 yards on the ground and over 170 yards in receiving yards to running backs. Worth noting, DAVID GARRARD has 22 interceptions on the road and just 11 at home for his career.
DEMARYOUS THOMAS made his DENVER debut Sunday and promptly put up 97 yards on 8 catches. His emergence probably signals the end to the JABAR GAFFNEY hype and in all likelihood puts an end to any significant interest one would have for BRANDON LLOYD. With the BRONCOS having their 2 top cornerbacks banged up, PEYTON MANNING should have a huge opportunity upcoming. He has 14 TDs in his last 4 games against DENVER with REGGIE WAYNE catching 29 balls in that time frame. DALLAS CLARK has 6 scores in 5 lifetime games of this series.
Sometimes it's quite painful watching MATT HASSELBECK under center for SEATTLE . Sunday looks to be again one of those times as SAN DIEGO 's pass D is #8 in the league while having 4 interceptions. The unclear situation in the backfield further enhances the fact that here too, one should not want any of the SEAHAWK skill people unless absolutely forced to.
BEANIE WELLS looks no closer to returning at full strength anytime soon, and given the performance of TIM HIGHTOWER, ARIZONA probable is better served waiting until he is completely healthy. CARDINAL WRs are probably wishing for more MAX HALL and less DEREK ANDERSON who is a career 47% passer against OAKLAND . RUN DMC has made MICHAEL BUSH owners really sad.
Last year, MARK SANCHEZ had 3 TDs and zero interceptions vs. MIAMI . Same stats for CHAD HENNE. Except HENNE threw for 67% completions and SANCHEZ chucked his at a 53% rate. Those needing a tight end may want to look the DOLPHIN way as ANTHONY FASANO has 17 catches and 3 touchdowns the last 2 years against NEW YORK .
CHICAGO 's defense is playing lights out, with the number 1 ranked team in the NFL vs. the rush, which should kill the BRANDON JACKSON excitement even further. They have handled AARON RODGERS fairly well as he has not thrown for more than 260 yards against the BEAR secondary as they have held him under a 215 yard average for his career. JAY CUTLER is the number 1 ranked QB here, and in the league with a 121.2 rating.
